Macadamia Nut Milk

MACADAMIA NUT MILK

MAKES APPROXIMATELY 5 CUPS OF MILK

Ingredients

1 cup Macadamia Nuts

4 cups water

 

Optional add in’s:

1/4 cup cacao powder

4 dates (More or less depending how sweet you like it)

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp cinnamon

pinch salt

instructions

Place the Macadamia nuts in a bowl & cover with water. Soak for a minimum of 1hr. 

Strain & rinse the Mac nuts. Transfer them into the blender cup. Add the water & blend on high for 1 minute until they are completely broken down. Then you can add in any additional ingredients & blend again until everything is incorporated & broken down. 

If you are using this as a dairy substitute in a smoothie, soup, or anything else that you don’t mind a slight presence of the fiber, use as is. If you are using this to drink alone I recommend straining it with cheese clothe or a nut milk bag. 

NOTES

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A THICKER, more concentrated milk YOU CAN DO THIS BY ADDING LESS WATER. LET'S SAY YOU WANT TO SUBSTITUTE FOR CREAM TRY ADJUSTING THIS RECIPE TO A 1:1 RATIO of MAC NUTS TO WATER.  

A NUT MILK BAG IS A VERY INEXPENSIVE ADDITION TO YOUr KITCHEN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING ONE AS IT WILL MAKE THE PROCESS MUCH EASIER.
